Cllr Manning and activist Clare Blair, along with other Lib Dems spent a busy day today collecting signatures in support of The Lib Dem motion to reverse the 25% pay rise for Councillors. They were joined by all sectors of society, even the undead: some people who’d go together online and dressed up as Zombies for the day came along to find out what the petition was about.

Clare commented: “There was a brilliant response and it is clear this is an issue Cambridgeshire taxpayers feel very strongly about.
On top of the recent announcement by the tax payers alliance I felt we are giving voice to a significant groundswell of opinion against this huge hike . Not only that but we now know there were major mistakes made even in undertaking the review.”
Ian hopes the decision will be reversed at the next County Council meeting:
“I hope dearly all County Councillors from all parties will vote this down at the 7th December County Council meeting.”
